Review of Eiersi Hauser Replica hand made Classical Guitar:
Guitar arrived Canada on time as promised, well packed in a cardboard box with the guitar in a quality fiberglass case, all in layers of protective bubble wraps and generous amount of foam packing sheets.
1. Label – it is a proudly made and beautifully finished professional and concert grade classical guitar. It is worthy, and would be very nice indeed, for the luthier who designed, built and/or supervised its production to sign and date the label.
2. Appearance – perfect workmanship, looks 10 out of 10 with polyurethane finish. The guitar is built with high grade and tight grained German spruce and Indian rosewood, all components, parts and joints, rosette and purfling are faultlessly made and perfectly finished.
3. Neck and fingerboard – the common concert classical guitar criteria of not having a truss rod but with an ebony reinforcing insert on the neck to keep the guitar light, and as I requested, with no fret markers on the side of the fingerboard – are observed. The neck and the ebony fingerboard have a very comfortable round C shape profile. It is beautifully finished with low profile frets. This is a personal preference – some European makers have higher profile frets set on a flatter D shaped neck.
4. Sound – the guitar has the right and beautiful concert tone, with the correct and appropriate levels of brightness and darkness. The sound is well balanced across and up and down the strings. Of course, it sounds brand new and somewhat tight but already produces a shocking amount of volume. The spruce soundboard feels substantial enough and ready to open with play and time.
5. Value – I believe this guitar with a value much higher than what its price indicates. It compares well with many established and named European luthiers whose products are priced at multiples higher than the price of this guitar. It stands head and shoulders and way above the Spanish and Japanese factory-made guitars at higher prices.
I am happy with this guitar, also depends on how it opens and tone improves with time and play I could sell one or both of my big name and legendary European luthier made concert classical guitars.
