A high, Arched and carved back for the guitar, which is considerably thicker and heavier than a conventional guitar. The back is made of Indian Rosewood , while the top is always made of Western Cedar or Spruce.
Lattice sound bracing systerm design
The top of Smallman guitars is braced using a “lattice” framework composed of balsa wood .By contrast, traditional classical guitars use struts made of cedar or spruce arranged in a “fan” shape.

I ordered a smallman style guitar. Communication with Devon was good. Guitar was packed and sent safely to my address. In comparing the guitar with my other guitars (without a sound port), I covered the guitar soundport. The Aiersi guitar is well built, general inspections did not show any issues, however, I did notice that the tuners did not appear to be as smooth as expected. It became really hard to turn the tuners of the high e and g strings.
In terms of sound, the guitar sounded loud right out of the box, playability is good, no setup adjustments were required. The tone compared to my Yamaha GC5M, seems rather harsh, however I think the guitar just needed more time to open up, and the strings more time to settle. After 2 weeks, the sound has somewhat lost its harshness, and was a tad more mellow/refined. I later made some minor adjustments just so to match my existing guitars.
After 2 weeks of having the guitar, the tuners were still bothering me, so I decided to swap them for another set. When removing the original ones, there didnt seem to be anything wrong. Instead I noticed that the tuner holes at the headstock were not drilled very straight on the left, this was causing the rollers to stick to the holes (high e, and g strings). So a new set of tuners would not resolve the issue. This was a dissapointment of an otherwise excellent guitar, as I am not very sure of how to fix the problem now.
Overall the purchase of the guitar was a positive experience. The price shows that you do not have spend a lot to get a guitar of decent sound and playability.

Hello aiersi!i just received my aiersi smallman guitar today!thank you sir devon and angela for a safe delivery and transaction.my overall rating is excellent for the smallman cedar top.the tonality and volume is very good with its construction.the varnished back and side will help especially when you are using a guitar rest with a suction cup and the quality of the sound will not suffer due the french polished top,the intonantion is well measured especially on the 20th fret since this is a crucial fret for intonantion.i loved the thinness of the top for added volume yet sweet tone of the quality cedar top.the soundport really helped for personal monitor and playablity if the raised neck.kudos for the luthiers of aiersi for a quality instrument.thanks again for sir devon and angela for a good and safe transaction.i hope youll stay on your price range so many will enjoy your quality instrument!thank you again to the aiersi team for a job very well done!

An exceptional guitar with innovative features. It has a raised fingerboard for ease of playing at the higher positions and a very functional armrest to improve both sound production and playing comfort. In addition, it has a sound porthole positioned in the top bout side that increases the volume and allows the payer to hear what the audience hears. The top is made of solid AAA super-thin tone wood reinforced with a modern lattice bracing system. Its back and sides are double-laminated rosewood for extra rigidity and sound projection. It has a generously domed back for extra internal air volume, and it has a two-way truss rod for achieving perfect neck relief. This guitar is a concert grade instrument with all the modern features one could want. It’s only negative aspect is that it is rather heavy at 2.2kg.

I have received my guitar couple days ago. It had been packed very well. The guitar in general is great, even though the action is little high so I had to adjust the action. The sound is beautiful, the bass notes are warm and loud. I currently own two Cordoba and a Manuel Rodriguez Model B guitars including Cordoba GK Pro, but the Smallman Style Guitar from Aiersi is the best one.
