A high, Arched and carved back for the guitar, which is considerably thicker and heavier than a conventional guitar. The back is made of Indian Rosewood , while the top is always made of Western Cedar or Spruce.
Lattice sound bracing systerm design
The top of Smallman guitars is braced using a “lattice” framework composed of balsa wood .By contrast, traditional classical guitars use struts made of cedar or spruce arranged in a “fan” shape.

Recently, my friends and I visited the samples showroom of Aiersi at its guitar factory located at Taixing city. We are hoping to buy a few Smallman type guitars back home in Hong Kong for leisure playing. The sound of the guitars were as great as we imagined with very high price-to-value ratio, each of us got our own favorite models happily in the end. Though, it will be improved if there were choices for each model as there was only one sample for each model in the showroom – i.e. we cannot buy two models of the same at the same time. The manager also invited us to the workshop area to have a look on the manufacturing process and let us met the chief luthier. We learnt a lot from the luthier who had rich experience in guitar making and it was a pleasant and knowledgeable chat with the luthier. I am glad to see that China nowadays is able to make professional grade concert guitar with a stunning sound, but at a very competitive price that is uncomparable to the rest of the world.

This model guitar is truly excellent. The projection is incredible and it’s extremely playable. You would expect a guitar of this quality to cost over $7,000. So it is true value for money. If had hand more room in my house or more hands, I’d buy several more!
