A high, Arched and carved back for the guitar, which is considerably thicker and heavier than a conventional guitar. The back is made of Indian Rosewood , while the top is always made of Western Cedar or Spruce.
Lattice sound bracing systerm design
The top of Smallman guitars is braced using a “lattice” framework composed of balsa wood .By contrast, traditional classical guitars use struts made of cedar or spruce arranged in a “fan” shape.

I am a recording artist and professor of music at Southern Illinois University. In my experience studying music at a professional level requires an instrument that can comply with the demands of such repertoire. It is difficult due to high costs for students to afford high quality instruments. I believe this guitar is ideal for students who need a quality instrument, made with the right woods but cannot afford to have one built.
